Remarkable Rosettes

Inspired by this amazing website, I’ve started a basal rosette ID project. I find them so fascinating, these wonderful spreads of leaves in geometrical patterns – they’re so gorgeous.

As a beginner botanist and ecologist, navigating some of these tricky leaves can be a bit of a puzzle! So I’m collating pictures of rosettes I’ve found and identified using these wonderful books:

  • The Wild Flower Key: How to Identify Wild Flowers, Trees and Shrubs in Britain and Ireland, by Francis Rose
  • The Vegetative Key to the British Flora, by John Poland and Eric Clement

This is an ongoing project so I will be adding to here as I observe new rosettes. Also, I welcome any corrections for any mistakes I’ve made in my identifications! If you have any thoughts please shoot me an email at mail@arianasegura.com.
